Buckle up. This blog will be longer than normal.

“And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand will be against him; and shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren” Genesis 16:12.

Abraham and Sarai made a huge mistake, they sinned, taking a God matter into their own hands. God had promised them a son. They didn’t understand how God would do that considering the fact that Sarai was well past child bearing years. As was the practice among the heathen in those ancient times, a servant could be given to take the place of the wife in conceiving and bearing a child. Sarai gave Hagar to Abraham in just such an arrangement. Abraham shouldn’t have been willing, and he is just as guilty as Sarai in doubting God by taking matters into their own hands.

Hagar birthed a boy; his name was Ishmael which means “God hears.” Hagar despised Sarai, and Sarai responded with cruelty toward Hagar and Ishmael. The word for the fighting between the two women is “chamas.” It means “violence and injustice.” Sarai indeed did conceive and the promised son, Issac, was born 13 years later. When Issac was a toddler, Ishamael would “mock” (Gen. 21:9). A couple of interpretations are offered in Jewish sources. One, Ishamel was simply playing with the young toddler. Two, he was degrading him with constant jesting and ridicule. A couple of other instances in the Bible use the same Hebrew word. Lot’s son-in-laws ridiculed Lot when he tried to get them to leave Sodom, and Samson was mocked and ridiculed by the Philistines of Gaza after his eyes had been put out.

Sarai would tell Abraham to send them away. Whether it was her thinking the inheritance might go to the older boy or a mother protecting her child from bullying, we don’t know. However, we do know that Abraham did send Hagar and Ishmael away even though he didn’t want to. Hagar thought they both would die in the wilderness, but remember his name means “God hears.” God had heard everything, including Ishamel crying (Gen. 21:17), saw everything, and His mercy was on display. The Lord made a promise to Hagar; through her son, Ishmael, would be a great nation, a huge number of people.

But God also added an addendum. The verse I began with tells us what he will be like. He will be a “wild man.” The Hebrew word for “wild” is more intense. It says, “he will be a wild ass.” Donkey if you will. These “wild” donkeys are “untamable, strong, free, roaming, suspicious and untrustworthy” (Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges). His offspring will live turbulent lives. The verse in 16:12 continues by saying “…his hand will be against everyman, and everyman’s hand against him…” He will constantly be fighting everyone around him, and they will fight back against him. Ishmael’s offspring, (the great nation, to use God’s words) will constantly be at war; always poking, prodding, and when opportunity arises, destroying those in their path. Ishmael is the father of the Arabs. From the time of Ishmael’s teen years, he and his offspring have lived exactly like the “wild ass” God predicted in Genesis 16:12.

From Ishmael’s seed, a man named Muhammed, 2600 years later, would start a political movement disguised as a religion. He would claim that the angel Gabriel visited him in a vision giving him instructions to go and conquer, causing everyone to submit to Allah, the one god. That religion is Islam and the very name means “submission.”

Today, twenty-five years ago, was a Tuesday. I was working in my basement, on a day off, trying to finish it for my in-laws or family if they needed it. I got a phone call. I don’t remember who called, but they asked something like “Are you seeing what is on TV?” “No. I’m working in the basement.” “You need to turn it on now.” I went upstairs, turned on the television, and for the next several hours was glued to the screen. The networks kept showing video of the planes flying into the twin towers in New York. Some of the video was graphic. You could see people from a distance jumping to their deaths from the burning and crashing towers. The first plane, flight 11, hit the first tower at 8:46 AM, the second plane, flight 175, hit the second tower at 9:03 AM. Little did officials know that in thirty-four minutes, a third plane, flight 77 would strike the Pentagon at 9:37 AM. All planes had been grounded, international flights diverted, and President Bush had been secured because no one really knew if something else was to happen. It would happen! Flight 93 out of Newark, NJ, was highjacked and the Islamic radicals were piloting the plane heading toward Washington, DC. The target was most likely the U.S. Capitol building or the White House. Todd Beamer, of “Let’s roll” fame, along with several other passengers, attempted to retake the plane. They would go down with the plane fighting the terrorists all the way to their deaths. The crash happened at 10:03 AM. In approximately 90 minutes, four planes changed the history of the United States as we had known it. Nineteen Muslim men from three different countries were a part of a terrorist plot to take down America. Fifteen came from Saudia Arabia, two from the UAE, one from Egypt and one from Lebanon. All nineteen were members of al-Qaeda which is a radical part of the Islamic religion.

I liked George W. Bush for the most part. A few things he did, I didn’t care for at the time and still don’t to this day. At the top of the list? Six days after the horrific attack on 9/11/01, he went to a mosque, the Islamic Center of Washington, to deliver a speech claiming “The face of terror is not the true face of Islam. Islam is peace.” I know what he was trying to do, tamp down any type of vigilantism toward Muslims. He claimed that most Muslims were unassociated with the radicals. I read the speech again this week, and those words he spoke still stick in my craw. My thought then and my thought now is this; if the majority of Muslims are not in agreement with the radicals, then why not publicly say so from the roof tops. Why not rid the loons in your group?

Condemn, condemn, and condemn as loud and as long as you can! The truth, Islam is many things but peaceful isn’t one of them. From the git-go, Muhammad was anything but peaceful and neither were his successors. They all followed his blood-thirsty path, killing or subduing nation after nation through their various jihads, which means “to have a holy war or to struggle to propagate Islam.” They still do; any place they have achieved the political or military power will be led by some weird beard with massive power to kill. It has often been rightly said that Islam only conquers by the sword. Islamists hotly dispute that through multiple propaganda outlets. Article after article fill the internet denying that is the case, claiming they always seek peace. Even search engines with their algorithms push those articles of propaganda toward the first pages. Islamic lobbyists walk the halls of Congress with pockets full of cash buying influence for their cause.

I have been watching and reading experts on Islam for 25 years now. We support a missionary, Tom Wallace, seeking to reach Muslims with the Gospel. Tom does a phenomenal work. David Wood, popular on YouTube, is constantly debating Muslim scholars about their history and even their own holy book, the Quran. He is fantastic. Bridgette Gabriel is a conservative, Lebanese born, that constantly battles in debates, and she writes about the rise and goals of Islam. I have enjoyed listening to her many times.

Recently I came across a writer, Mary Lee, who penned an article 11/15/25 entitled “Islam’s Takeover of Nations – A Historical Perspective and its Relevance to the West.” In her article she writes, “Throughout history, Islam has expanded primarily through conquest, political dominance, and demographic shifts, often leading to the forced Islamization of previously Christian regions. Today, a similar pattern can be observed in Western countries experiencing large-scale Muslim immigration, raising concerns about cultural transformation, religious freedom, and national identity.” What are her bona fides? As a child she lived in India. Her father worked in the United States Embassy for a long-time, and it was his job to “lookout for any Muslim hostility, aggression, or invasion.” India was well aware, as was U.S. personnel stationed there, that Muslim/Islamic beliefs posed a threat to India. A few years later, while at university in Italy she became well acquainted with the most recent strategy being used to conquer for the cause of Allah. She has become proficient in the Islamic techniques of conquest by study and observation. She saw it happen in Spain as well as other Western countries. Read her words a second time. “Throughout history, Islam has expanded primarily through conquest, political dominance, and demographic shifts, often leading to the forced Islamization of previously Christian regions. Today, a similar pattern can be observed in Western countries experiencing large-scale Muslim immigration, raising concerns about cultural transformation, religious freedom, and national identity.” That exact plan is unfolding before our very eyes.

The United Kingdom has most likely passed the point of no return. Towns and villages which at one time were quaint, little hamlets where crime was almost non-existent and churches were filled on Sundays are now covered with squaller. Larger cities such as London and Birmingham have become hot beds of Islamic activities. London has been tagged with the name Londonistan. The people of London elected an Islamic mayor a little over ten years ago. Today, those places are trash piles and have become third-world in almost every sense of the word. Pakistani rape gangs in Britain have groomed young girls, not just older teens, but those as young as nine and ten years-old. The estimated number of these rapes, after twenty years of government officials glossing over this nonsense, has reached almost a half-million young girls in the UK. This demise has also happened in France as well as many other European countries such as Italy, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, and Norway. The only ones that I’ve heard that are fighting back are first Poland and then Hungry to a lesser degree.

What about us? The good old USA. What are we doing? The current administration seems to be trying to stem the tide by putting bans on Visa’s from Islamic nations, but each time they try, the administration is taken to court and a “stay” is issued by a thoughtless judge. The previous administration had a border policy that was wide-open, and millions flooded into the country illegally. To this day, no one knows truly how many broke in, but we do know that there were military aged men who were a huge part of the illegals from many different enemy nations, which included China and several countries from the Middle East. In the past 25 years, both political parties in the United States have politicked, off and on, in favor of massive immigration; so it’s not a Democrat or Republican issue, it is a life and death issue for the survival of the United States as we know it.

Allen West is a former Florida congressman, a retired military officer & a great American. I watched a speech he gave concerning Islam recently. I have since watched it another four or five times. He made the claim, and I agree with him, that Islam is a political movement, not a religious movement. Their process is a four-step process. Immigrate, populate, agitate, and dominate. He nailed it. Europe and the UK are already at the last stage. Where do you think the United States is at? Easily at the third.

Do you remember the Marine Corp anthem words? “From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, we will fight our nations battles in the air, on land and sea.” What do the words I underlined refer too? It is a reference back to what is called the “Barbary Wars” in the early 1800’s. North Africa was and is Islamic. The countries of Morocco, Algiers, Tunis, and Tripoli are among them. Tripoli was the big dog back then. Europeans as far back as the 1500’s had been paying tribute (extortion money) so their ships would be left alone when sailing in that area of the world, the Mediterranean. Anyone not willing to be extorted would have their ships captured and the sailors enslaved. Well over a million European sailors off these merchant ships were taken into slavery.

Fast forward to the founding of America, roughly the first 15-20 years of our existence, the United States was also paying tribute for our commerce ships. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson asked the ambassador from Tripoli “Why do you take our ships and enslave our men; America has never had a fight with Muslims?” His answer? “Our book (Quran) gives us permission so subdue the infidels” (paraphrase). Thomas Jefferson understood that blackmail or extortion would only get worse if we kept paying. He was right, however Adams and others outvoted him. Immediately after Jefferson won the presidency, the Pasha of Tripoli, Yusuf Karamanli, upped the extortion ante demanding more money. Jefferson refused and Tripoli declared war on us. In 1801, our third president would usher in a “new era of sovereignty, strength and self-sufficiency” according to Kevin Erbele, a writer. As long as this blog is, and there is still more to come, I won’t take space or your time to get into the whole of the Barbary Wars history, but it set the tone for American foreign policy early. It also sent a message loud and clear that you don’t want to fool with the American Marines or Navy.

What about the history of Islam and its desire for world conquest and submission? The battles are too numerous, but here are some of the events in the demonic history of Islam.

• 7th century (mid to late 600’s A.D.). Most of the Middle East was conquered. Once nations which were majority Christian were no longer. The people either converted or were willing to pay the jizya, a tax on non-Muslims. The others fled or were killed.
• 7th & 8th century. North Africa fell to the Muslims.
• 8th century. France, Spain, and Portugal were conquered. Spain and Portugal would regain their Christian status for a while, but that is again rapidly deteriating or already past the point of no return. Were it not for the great leader, Charles “the Hammer” Martel at the Battle of Tours in A.D. 732 the rest of Europe would have fallen. He stemmed the Muslim tide for a time.
• 15th century. The Byzantine Empire fell along with its capital city, Constantinople. The city today is called Istanbul.
• 15th-17th century. The Balkans and Eastern Europe fell to the Ottomans, Islam. This includes countries such as Bosnia, Albania, and certain parts of Greece.
• Today, there are 53 nations that are considered Muslim.

What about Islamic inroads, incursions, or attacks on Americans? Inroads first. Since 2000, the number of mosques in America has more than doubled. One year before the attack of 9/11, there were 1200 mosques in the U.S. In 2020, there are now over 2800. Why that many new ones? Population explosion from Muslims in America is a reason! While Christians decide children are a burden, the Muslims are dropping babies at a tremendously rapid rate. We also have former Christian church attenders, think college-aged kids, specifically the young ladies, who have converted. They learn at college that everything in America is evil, it is nothing but a bunch of white, colonizers who are always morally wrong and evil, and their compassion causes them to lose all logic and rationale. Finally, throw in the camaraderie with the communist/socialist, called the Red – Green Alliance, and society finds itself in an upheaval. What about incursions and attacks on Americans? I’ll just list some from the 1990’s forward along with the deaths and injuries inflicted in the name of Islam.

• 1993. World Trade Center Bombing. 6 killed; over 1000 wounded.
• 1997. Empire State Building shooting. 1 killed; 6 wounded.
• 9/11/01. Twin Towers in NYC, Pentagon, Field in PA. 2977 killed. Thousands more have died from cancers from inhaling debris.
• 2002. Seattle Jewish Federation. 1 killed; 5 wounded.
• 2009. Little Rock, AK, Recruiting Station shooting. 1 killed; 1 wounded.
• 2009. Fort Hood, TX. Shooting. 13 dead; 30 wounded.
• 2013. Boston Marathon bombing. 3 dead; 260 wounded.
• 2014. NYC hatchet attack. 4 NYPD officers attacked, two seriously before killing the suspect.
• 2015. Garland, TX. Two gunmen, inspired by Isis (Islamic) opened fire at the Curtis Culwell Center. A security guard was injured before the gunmen were killed.
• 2015. Chattanooga, TN. Terrorist opened fire at military offices killing 4 Marines and 1 Sailor.
• 2015. San Bernadino, CA. The Inland Regional Center. 14 killed; 22 wounded.
• 2016. Orlando, Fl. The Pulse Nightclub. 49 dead; 53 wounded.
• 2016. St. Cloud, MN. Islamic radical stabbed 10 at a mall before being killed by an off-duty officer.
• 2016. Ohio State University. Terrorist ran a car into a group of pedestrians, got out of the car and started slashing with a butcher knife. Injured 11 before being killed.
• 2017. NYC truck rental attack. A radical drove down a bike path in lower Manhattan killing 8 and wounding 12.
• 2019. Pensacola, FL.  A Saudi man, involved in aviation training at the naval base opened fire killing 3 and injuring 8.

That’s enough recent history for us to get the message. I won’t even deal with the most recent 7 years. There are basically two groups of people that wish ill or death to America, the Islamic world to a great degree and the communist. They have formed an alliance to bring America to her knees. If they succeed, I wonder which of the two will kill off the other because they are only unified in their hatred for America and Israel. It breaks my heart to see what is happening right before our very eyes. NYC, 25 short years after the horrific attack of 9/11, has an Islamic/communist mayor. Just this week, after signing some legislation, handed the signing pen to a man that praised the bombing of the Twin Towers. Michigan, what was at one time revered for its American spirit and industry, is posed to elect a radical Islamist as one of its U.S. Senators. I pray every day for that not to be. Mosques are going up in conservative areas as well as liberal bastons.

What is the answer? In a word, Jesus! The only hope for the world is salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only one that can change hearts. That’s why sharing the Gospel with the world is important. That’s why missionaries who do work in Islamic nations, such as Iran, are so important. I pray for a couple of missionaries constantly who smuggle Bibles into Iran, along with other closed-door nations. If peace is ever to be attained it will come only through the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus. Today, as you reflect on what you were doing 25 years ago, try not to let hatred reign in your heart. The terrorists are simply doing the work of their father, Satan. Jesus called Satan a liar and a murder, and his children are simply following the wishes of their father. Let’s pray that somehow the truth of Christ and His ability to change their nature from a “wild donkey” will take place, and that right soon.
